On March 26, 2026, the Taipei District Court delivered its first instance verdict on the high-profile Jinghua City floor area ratio scandal and the political donation case involving TPP Chairman Ko Wen-je. The court found Ko guilty of illegal gains for the Jinghua City project during his tenure as Taipei Mayor, as well as false reporting and money laundering related to political donations during his presidential campaign. Nine key defendants, including Ko, were sentenced to varying prison terms. Ko's legal team immediately announced they would appeal.
