This is my honest opinion: Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen’s government has made me genuinely envious. Under her administration, all you need to do is question someone’s property origins from a century ago, and you can demand that the national banking system freeze all of that person’s assets without any responsibility, without providing security, without evidence, and without any statute of limitations. Essentially, Tsai’s government can simply cut off your financial lifeline first, then let the courts deal with the consequences at leisure. Smashing political opponents becomes effortless. If I had the power to do the same, the Filipino people would surely be much safer.
